Karen's Korner

It was a beautiful Christmas season highlighted by all the people who provided wonderful music for our services: Carol Brickley, Kay Weitzel, Oakley Lee, Kelsey Layton, Deb Walters, Ruth Firestien and all the youth who provided our Christmas Play.

Every New Year’s, as far back as I can remember, my resolution has been to get organized. Unfortunately, working and raising three kids often left me frustrated by the mess that surrounded me, both at home and at work. Now that I’m retired and the kids are grown, I realize how trivial that resolution was.

As you know, I love music and all kinds of music. I was watching an interview of Berry Manilow on tv the other day (I love Berry Manilow) and he said, “It’s not what you’ve done in life that people will remember, it’s how you made them feel”. What a wonderful thought and that will be my resolution for the New Year. I will make a better effort to be kinder, gentler, and consider others’ feelings. (Even if they do make a mess.)

Thank you to all our musicians for your beautiful voices and for making us feel special this Christmas.

Keep Singing,

Karen
