St. J QUILTERS CUT BACK TO
TWO WORKDAYS A YEAR
The working members of St J
Quilters are dwindling and some are finding the work to be difficult
as the years go by.
It will be sad to see a
decrease in the lap robes and quilts that are given to the agencies
in our community.
Vera Foos has been the
coordinator for a number of years. She
contributes the batting for the larger quilts, sews and ties flannel
baby quilts, binds quilts at home, counts and stores completed
items.

$15)
Other key participants
include Bob and Floriene Krause who cut fabric and sew lap robes at
home, Floriene, Berenice Cantrell and Germaine Adkisson who add
backing, batting and yarn knots to the large bed-size quilt tops put
together by Mary Ann Weber or Roline Foos.
At nearby tables, several of
these women are tying lap robes and baby quilts: Dorothy Paxton,
Mary Ann, Vera, Bernie Bliss, Gerry Scheidt, Roline Foos, or Leona
Geisick.
Sooooo, if you can cut a
square, using a template, or tie a knot with a doubled strand of
yarn, please join the women on October 14 for an all day workday
making quilts and enjoying good fellowship.
