Message from Linda

Consistory President

My Church Family, I am so excited about the year ahead. With the help of the Consistory members and the Congregation...yes…, I’m including you, changes are afoot a St. John’s. Just after I accepted the nomination of President of the Consistory, I asked myself “What did I just do?” What I didn’t want to do is preside over a Consistory where nothing changes, no moving forward, no growth, no follow through…...the same- o, same-o.

I want to share the Consistory’s plan for 2011. Our church is going to be run as a business…..what does that mean? We are now a Team. Together, we will sink or swim! Accountability will be established. Goals will be set. Administration of the business office will be restructured to allow more time for our Pastor to perform his duties as required. Productive committees will be established.

Most importantly….a “State of the Church Address” will be presented to the Congregation half way through the year and then, again, at the end of the year. Now, this year, we are already behind schedule….but for the future, the January Consistory meeting needs to be the goal setting month. June would be presenting the State of the Church Address month and December would be reviewing the status of reaching our goals and presenting State of the Church Address. This year, the State of the Church Address will be in July and December.

Committees that you need to be aware of this year…Planning Committee, Memorial Committee, Pastoral Committee and Recruiting Committee….along with the already established committees.

What are your thoughts? What are your suggestions? You can contact me or any Consistory member at anytime.

Lastly, I want to say … “Thank You” for your love, prayers and support for me and Kenny’s family in the last year.

Respectfully,
Linda
