Women's Fellowship
The women’s Fellowship of
St. John’s UCC met on September 9, 2008 at 1:30 in the fellowship
hall.
Leona Geisick opened the
meeting by reading “I’m Fine”.
Devotions were given by
Helen Smith, “He restores my soul”, from Psalm 23.
The minutes and treasurer’s
report were given.
Committee reports:
Sunshine committee reported
sending several get well and sympathy cards.
The Called to Care committee
reported providing food for the Lee’s, Leveda Jackson, and Larry
Weber.
Pastor John reported that
the wife of Rev. Jim Taylor, Dorothy, has been diagnosed with
Alzheimer’s disease. Jim was our interim pastor
before John came. John suggested that we could
send cards to them.
The St. J’s quilters will
meet on September 17 in the fellowship hall. They
need your help!! If there is no one to help, they
are thinking of making this their last year, because it is getting
harder for them. This is such a worthy cause we
hate to see it discontinued.
The program was a trivia
game, about the presidents of the United States based on information
from a book written by Noah McCullough, a ten year old boy who
researched all the information.
The meeting was adjourned by
praying The Lord’s Prayer in unison.
